League of Legends

In League of Legends, players assume the role of an unseen "summoner" that controls a "champion" with unique abilities and battle against a team of other players or computer-controlled champions. The goal is usually to destroy the opposing team's "nexus" which lies at the heart of a base protected by defensive structures.

Over the course of a normal academic year, two seasons are played. One in the fall semester and one in the spring. Seasons are 7 weeks long and pit schools against each other within their respective conferences. Regular season matches are played weeknights from 8:00PM- 11PM. These matches are played and streamed online. Semifinals are held on the Saturday directly after the regular season concludes. The two teams that make it out of semis compete in grand finals of their conference!
